1. What FamilyHub is

FamilyHub is a free family planner: calendars, chores, a shared shopping list, budgets and reminders. It is provided "as is", without any guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors. Please keep your own copy of anything important, such as financial records.

2. Your account

• Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
• Children may use FamilyHub with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on their behalf.
• Don't use FamilyHub for anything illegal, harmful or abusive.

3. What we store (POPIA)

In line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), we only collect what the app needs to work:

• Your name, email address and a securely scrambled (hashed) version of your password.
• What you add: events, chores, shopping items, budget entries and settings.
• If you turn on notifications, a technical address your browser gives us so we can send them.

By creating an account, you agree that we may store and process this information to provide the service.

4. Who can see it

• Anything marked Private is only shown to you (and, for tasks, to the family member who set the task for you).
• Anything marked Shared with family, plus the family shopping list and family budget, is visible to everyone in your family group.
• We never sell your information or use it for advertising.
• The quote of the day may be fetched from the free ZenQuotes service. No personal information is sent to it.

5. Your rights

You can see and change your information in the app at any time. You can ask the person who runs this FamilyHub site to give you a copy of your information or to delete your account and data. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

6. Security

We use reasonable safeguards: hashed passwords, secure login cookies, encrypted (HTTPS) connections when hosted properly, and lockout after repeated failed logins. No system is perfectly secure.

7. Changes

We may update these terms. If we make important changes, we'll let you know in the app.
